OUR MISSION
Scioto County Jobs & Family Services is committed to providing quality service in a professional and respectful manner, for the betterment of life in our community through strengthening families and adults, developing opportunities and promoting maximum self-sufficiency.
County Departments of Jobs & Family Services (CDJFS) administer one of the largest health and human service systems in the nation, with one in four Ohioans receiving public assistance from the local CDJFS office at any point in time. The CDJFS is responsible for administering programs to the state’s most economically vulnerable citizens, of which the majority of recipients are working. The public assistance system is eligibility based versus need based.
Programs operated through Scioto CDJFS include cash assistance, food assistance, childcare, Medicaid (including long-term care, children’s health insurance, and services to the aged, blind and disabled), adult protective services, and child support.
Scioto CDJFS constantly strives to provide a viable, safe, effective, efficient system while maintaining program integrity and operating as good shepherds of the public trust.
